Playground
Practice shelf inside a Module — class Practice from Lab plus private student packs. Separate from Workshop assessments.
What Playground is for
Teachers see Class practice (or Assigned practice on Indi) plus a roster of voluntary student practice. Learners see packs from you under From your educator or Class practice, and Your practice for private packs. On Class practice, Progress (Spark or Flux) or Results (Echo) is the class view — the same page as a full roster. Click a student from there for the essay or quiz detail. Private packs still open that student’s attempt so you can leave a comment. When a learner finishes, they can ask an educator to look, with one optional line. That ask shows on the piece of work. On a Flux essay in Playground, Done marks it finished. The essay stays open if they want to change it.
After a Foundry Check, next steps build short Echo (Reading/Maths) or Spark (Writing) packs here. Teachers can review attempts and leave a comment. Optional learning videos appear under Foundry Learning Videos; some packs show Watch this first. Completion often shows as N× done.
| Shelf | What lands here |
|---|---|
| Class practice / Assigned practice | Lab → Practice assigns; teacher Module Revision recaps; teacher or parent Foundry Gap packs |
| Your practice / Learner private practice | Student Lab packs; learner-started Foundry next steps |
| Foundry Learning Videos | Short Explainer videos attached to gaps or tasks (kept about seven days) |
Super-Loop
Schools: the teacher authors one Module-wide sequence (Lab → Echo, tick Super-Loop, set the class day). The whole class sees the same list. Students cannot start their own Loop lessons. Each pack opens at 3.00 pm the day before that lesson, so students can preview that afternoon or evening.
On the teacher Playground glance, cyan R and P sit beside each name — today’s homework. R means they revised the last lesson (regenerated the questions and sat them after class). P means they previewed today’s lesson. Score columns start at the last finished lesson, not today. The colour is how they went once that loop was done.
Students see past lessons as Review (with their mark if they sat). Today’s pack is Lesson. Later packs stay hidden until 3.00 pm the day before.
Indi: educators can assign a Loop lesson from Lab (tick Super-Loop, set the lesson date). Learners can also add their own sequence or pin an Echo they already used. A Super-Loop lesson needs a lesson date; everyday Echo does not. Use Edit on a lesson row to open Setup (questions and the learning video). Press the date on that row — or the dash, if it has none — to set or change the lesson day. Either of you can rename a lesson with the pencil on that row, or remove it with the × — the Echo pack stays in Playground. Educators see that learner’s glance on Playground — including when the loop is still empty. Same Preview → Lesson → Review habit. A later lesson stays dimmed until 3.00 pm the day before, then it opens for preview. See Indi families → Super-Loop.
Module Revision
Once students have completed Workshop tasks and/or built Playground practice in a Module, open Revision on the Module footer. Choose Echo (quiz) or Spark (short answers). Isotopic Learning generates one recap from everything on that topic shelf — assessments plus practice. Teachers put it in Playground as Class practice (Echo recaps can join Super-Loop from there); a student’s own pack stays private. Refreshing replaces that one recap (complete to date) rather than stacking old packs.
Use Revision at the end of a unit, before a test, or as a weekly recap. It complements Echo and Spark packs you assign from Lab — it does not replace them. To drill one idea hard, regenerate that Lab Echo rather than making a second Module Revision.
