Modules

Start here — create a Module on the class home, then build and assign activities inside it.

Where to start

Before you make a single activity, create at least one Module on the class home. Lab, Playground, Revision, and Workshop all live inside a Module — not on a flat class list.

A typical path: create a Module on the class home → open it → use Lab to build Echo, Spark, or Flux → assign Practice into Playground or Proper assessment into Workshop → use Revision to recap the Module.

What Modules are for

A Module is a topic shelf — for example “Term 1 — Narrative”, “Literacy”, or “Photosynthesis week”. On a subject, educators and learners see the same Module list. On Indi, Personal Interests is different: that shelf belongs to the learner, and only they create the Modules. An educator can open the list.

When you open a Module, you land on Playground. The footer tabs run Lab → Playground → Revision → Workshop. Lab is where you create. Playground holds class practice plus private student packs. Workshop holds Proper assessments — if one still needs doing, the Workshop light pulses. Revision builds one Echo quiz or Spark short-answer recap from everything on the shelf. Beside those tabs, the footer docks Home, Navigation, Feedback, and Oracle. Timetable and Setup live under Account in the sidebar.

Creating and organising Modules

  1. On the class home, choose Create Module and walk through the wizard.
  2. Give the Module a clear name. You can optionally set start and finish teaching dates.
  3. Open the Module — use the footer tabs for Lab, Playground, Revision, or Workshop.
  4. Next, open Lab and create your first activity inside this Module (see the Lab guide).
  5. Sidebar activity dots count Workshop assessments plus class Practice. Private learner packs do not add to the dots. Fission projects show as dots on Teacher only → Fission.
  6. To rename, reorder, or delete, use the class home (the creator or staff can do this). Drag the handles to change the order everyone sees. Deleting a Module removes the shelf; tasks stay in the class but are no longer grouped there.
On a subject, an educator usually creates the Modules. On Personal Interests, only the learner creates them. Skipping this step is the most common setup mistake — every activity needs a Module to belong to.
